Palheiro Estate
‘Palheiro Estate enjoys a beautiful hillside location with stunning views of the ocean and the city of Funchal. Since it was acquired by the Blandy family in 1885, successive generations have managed the transition from traditional farming to leisure based activities. This strong tradition of hospitality and quality continues in all areas today, from golf and the hotel to the gardens and flower business; from real estate to property management and even the sports motor cruiser. The names of Blandy and Palheiro are synonymous with quality on Madeira Island and beyond.’ |

Palheiro Golf
'Palheiro Golf is situated some 10 km east of Funchal with magnificent views overlooking the town and bay. The 18-hole par 72 course was designed by Cabell Robinson in 1993 and winds around the Palheiro estate amongst pine forests, centennial trees, flowering shrubs and lush vegetation; elevated tess and drives over dramatic ravines add to the excitement.’ |

Palheiro Gardens
The Quinta do Palheiro Gardens, currently owned by Adam Blandy, were originally developed by the Conde Carvalhal circa 1805. In 1885, the property was bought by John Burden Blandy, and subsequent generations of the family have brought in plants from all over the world, to create today's gardens. The subtropical gardens are open to the public and welcome approximately 50,000 visitors per year. |

MY Balancal
‘It has been said on many occasions that Madeira offers some of the finest fishing grounds for Atlantic Blue Marlin. Fish close to and in excess of 1,000lbs are caught here more than anywhere else in the world. Although you may not see the same numbers of marlin compared to other locations, the fish of your dreams is waiting for you just for you between May and October each year. Big Eye and Bluefin Tuna are also regularly caught with the average weight for Big Eye being around 100lbs. Wahoo up to 90lbs are not uncommon and make excellent sport on light tackle.’. |
