Madeira Story Centre: Opened in 2005 the Madeira Story Centre was developed with the assistance of theme centre specialists 'The Petersham Group' and 'Haley Sharp Design' with the objective of offering visitors to Madeira a modern, interesting and interactive visit to the islands' cultural heritage. Although the island has a myriad of Museums and Cultural centers, nowhere could you get an overall idea of the history and significance of the island in one location. The Madeira Story Centre takes you on a journey through time from the islands' volcanic origins, its discovery, its commercial and strategic importance, its natural treasures as well as local customs and traditions.
Recently awarded a prize by the Portuguese Tourism Board, MSC has been recognised as an innovative project of cultural significance to all visitors to the island. |
